Colombia El Paraiso A Grade
Tasting Notes: Berry, crème brûlée, butterscotch.
“El Paraíso” translates to “Paradise,” a name that perfectly reflects this remarkable region. Tarqui’s rich and diverse flora and fauna have earned it this title among the local community, and with such exceptional coffee produced here, the name feels entirely fitting.
El Paraíso is made up of numerous small growers located throughout the Tarqui region in the Huila department. The average farm size is just three hectares, highlighting the truly small-scale nature of production. This group is a great example of smallholders working collaboratively to produce high-quality coffee. Farmers traditionally wash and dry their coffee on their own farms, and Tarqui is well known for its distinctive topography and outstanding coffee quality.
This is a region close to our heart. We have visited the producers behind this coffee and have first-hand experience picking the coffee, processing it, and then roasting and tasting it alongside the producers. The flavour profiles grown here are among the very best in Colombia, and we have been proudly buying coffee and working with producers in this area since 2017.
