About this coffee

This coffee comes from Chelchele washing station in the village of Chelchele, within the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe. Smallholder farmers in the region typically grow coffee on small plots alongside other crops and deliver their harvested cherries to a local washing station for sorting and processing.

Washing stations bring together deliveries from many producers throughout the harvest. This means the coffee is traceable to the washing station, rather than to an individual farmer. Our sourcing partner works through exporters and their local connections to source from the same washing stations year after year.
